The Hyundai Tucson In The Great Outdoors

Most gearheads can appreciate a good marketing campaign especially when it showcases something as sleek as the new Hyundai Tucson. With a range of nifty features, stunning exterior design and quality interior to match, what is the Hyundai Tucson truly capable of?

Let’s face it, most people who buy SUVs barely use them off-road other than the occasional dirt road or grassy hill. The new ‘Made For It. Even If You’re Not’ campaign from Innocean Australia puts the SUV through its paces in an attempt to promote the stylish, tough and very capable Hyundai Tucson.

While the national campaign highlights many capabilities of the Tucson, it also shows off the more refined qualities. Among others, this includes remote start, premium infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Another advanced addition is the ability to use an app to remotely set the car’s interior temperature. Perhaps not a necessity but give credit where credit is due for innovation.

The medium SUV category is, without a doubt, one of the most competitive which is why Innocean’s campaign is exactly what the brand needs. It is not a show of force and sheer imagination by driving the Hyundai Tucson over an active volcano but rather an authentic and honest demonstration of Tucson’s durable driving credentials and tech-savvy luxuries. It’s a simple, creative and funny campaign that benefits and resonates with an audience that lives in the city.

Hyundai and Innocean did an incredible job with the ‘Made For It. Even If You’re Not’ campaign as it is a very real reflection on why SUVs are so popular.

As Chris Wilson from Innocean said, “People don’t really test their SUVs in the wild. There are way more SUVs in the Bondi Junction Westfield carpark than there are in the bush. That’s why the couple in our spot is a bit like us, more comfortable pitching an idea about a tent than actually pitching a tent.”

Bill Thomas, director of marketing at Hyundai Australia added: “A lot of people who buy SUVs live in the city but love the option to go off-road occasionally. Our campaign shows the Tucson being put through its paces and makes you think – if it’s tough enough to handle the country it can certainly look after you in the city.”

The 2019 Hyundai Tucson is the perfect illustration as it offers loads of space, stylish interior with features and technology even at base trim levels such as forward collision warning. As you explore the higher trim levels there are other features such as panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree parking camera.

It certainly seems luxurious, technology-driven, refined and more than capable of competing against other SUVs in its class. The new Hyundai Tucson seems to be a great choice for city folk who like to be adventurous from time to time taking in what the great outdoors have to offer.
