Hyundai have broken the mold with the new i20. The design is unprecedented and is, quite simply put, unprecedented. The Korean car giants have given this modest little hatchback a sporty new facelift making it a zippy little runner, and the envy of its competitors.
Hyundai have implemented their new design philosophy, Fluidic Sculpture 2.0, which is influenced by forms and shapes that you’d find in nature. Nature’s influences are very easy to see in the i20 – teardrop headlights, the honeycomb influenced hexagonal grille, the floating roof line. With elegant curves and cutting edge lines, Hyundai have described it as “the second generation of new thinking that creates new possibilities for tomorrow’s drivers, today.”
The futuristic design is not all that’s new and improved about the Hyundai i20. The longer wheelbase means a more spacious interior and a larger boot space. The i20 can now comfortably carry five people, and the extended 294 litre boot space now puts it in a different class when it comes to comfort and practicality.
The inside has also had a major facelift and sports black inlays and chrome detailing. The entry level model, the 1.2 Motion, comes standard with air conditioning, four speaker CD/MP3/USB/Aux audio system, bluetooth, central locking, height adjustable driver’s seat, front electric windows and electric side mirrors that also heat up on those cold winter mornings. The 1.4 Fluid model also has automatic climate control, rear electric windows, park assist and front foglights.
Both the 1.2 Motion and the 1.4 Fluid come standard with dual front airbags, ABS disk brakes, the side-impact protection bars made with the highest quality tensile steel that run along the side panels as well as a collapsible steering column. Hyundai know that safety is of paramount importance to our customers, which makes it important to us too.
The only way to truly appreciate the elegant design, delightful drive and superior comfort is to experience it for yourself. The new Hyundai i20 has to be seen and driven to be believed. Contact your local Hyundai dealer now to arrange a test drive.
