The Hyundai Elantra was recently named the 2017 vehicle with the highest-rated overall owner tech experience in the compact segment during the J.D. Power Tech-Experience Study in California. The study is one of the foremost measurements of vehicle owner experience with regard to driven-orientated technology. This year, the Hyundai Elantra stole the show, outranking its competitors in the compact segment on the entertainment, mobile-mirroring and connectivity fronts respectively. It also scored exceptionally well in the driving assistance and collision protection categories.
Manish Mehrotra, the director of connected operations and digital business planning for Hyundai Motor America, believes that a consumer’s interaction with vehicle technology is fast becoming one of the most pivotal considerations during the pre-purchase due diligence process across all segments. He went on to say that the auto manufacturer’s focus on improved driver experience is demonstrated very well in the Elantra. He pointed out innovative safety features like automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warnings, as well as infotainment channels such as the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
But that’s not all that potential Elantra buyers have to look forward to. Aside from ticking all the consumer must-have boxes in terms of tech, this award-winning vehicle is also available in no less than six different trims that have been tailored to suit a variety of tastes and budgets. Safety-wise, the sought-after hatch is also a solid investment. With safety tech that seeks to develop good driving habits, the Elantra moves beyond collision prevention, into long-term behaviour development, which is a far more sustainable approach to road safety the world over. Examples of Hyundai tech that supports this approach includes blind spot detection with rear cross-traffic alert, lane keep assist and smart cruise control. Additionally, passengers are protected by 7 airbags that come standard, including a newly developed driver’s knee airbag.
To sweeten the deal even further, all 2018 Hyundai vehicles will come with three years of complimentary Blue Link Connected Car services, to keep drivers safe on the road and assist them in the timeous upkeep of their vehicles. This innovative system includes services such as emergency assistance linked to automatic collision notifications, as well as maintenance alerts and monthly vehicle health reports. With these in place, the chances of an untimely breakdown or expensive parts replacement due to undetected wear and tear becomes highly unlikely.
This is just the tip of the iceberg of what Hyundai has in store for drivers in 2018. Keep an eye on the blog and our social channels in coming weeks and months as we share more of the exciting things that lie ahead!
